Cricket Newsletter

A small group of SMDP members were selected for the divisional cricket match on October 23rd. Vrish, Aarav, Immanuel, Xavier, Hartej, Palash, Ronny, Ruan and Tanish were the people chosen. 

We began the day by taking the train to Fearon Reserve, a cricket venue in Williamstown. Our first cricket match was against Seabrook Primary, where we bowled first and held them to roughly 100 runs. We couldn't score enough runs to win. 

We then faced Alamanda Primary, the eventual winners. In the end, we lost by 19 runs despite bowling first and collecting a few wickets. In our last game, we faced Williamstown Primary; it was a really close game, and we barely missed out on our first win by 7 runs.

Overall everyone played with great spirit, competitiveness and sportsmanship. We were close in all the games and we had a great day out playing against other schools in cricket.
