What are Parent Contributions used for....
When we ask for parents to consider paying parent contributions, I thought it worth reminding you where there funds go:
Educational Contributions - provide vital requisites for the shared use of students within the classroom, like take home readers, MAB blocks, games and counting and measuring tools, science & cooking supplies and up to date IT software and Robotics equipment.
Specialist Contribution funds all the materials in the artroom, equipment and uniforms for PE, and musical and recording equipment in Performing Art.
Additional Contributions: (Wellbeing, Grounds, First Aid, Building & Library). Allow us to maintain the school grounds, buildings, stock the library and IT resources to our high standards.
We are currently sitting at only 36% of families having made a contribution. Thank you to those families who have paid and I hope that other families can consider doing so.

They are parent run platforms for reminders, asking questions, dates, upcoming events and connection with other parents. All staff at the school are still available to answer questions and provide support where needed.
Student Behaviour Expectations
At times it is worth directing parents to various policies and guidelines. This time I wanted to address our expectations on Student Behaviour. While this can be a tricky issue to navigate, we do use some basic expectations to guide us. These are listed in :
* Statement of Values & School Philosophy
* Student Engagement and Wellbeing Policy
These can be found on our website are the following link:
Reports, Policies & Guidelines — Jells Park Primary School
Please have a read and if there are any questions please contact me or Kellie.
Important Reminders / notes:

Mathematics and Numeracy at Home
The Department of Education in collaboration with the Victorian Mathematics Ambassadors, has developed a range of resources for parents and carers. The resources include short videos and simple activities parents can do at home. The activities are designed for use with junior students, primarily Foundation to Level 2. You might like to have a look at some of the games and activities you can do to support your child's mathematical understanding this weekend. Please refer to the link below -

Celebrating Holi – Wishing Joy to Our Community
This week, many in our school community will be celebrating Holi, the Festival of Colours. Holi is a joyful tradition that welcomes the arrival of spring and celebrates love, renewal, and the triumph of good over adversity.
To all our students, families, and staff who observe Holi, we wish you a wonderful celebration filled with colour, laughter, and togetherness. Your traditions enrich our school, and we are grateful for the diversity, culture, and warmth you bring to our community.
May this festival brighten your days ahead and bring happiness to all who celebrate.
Happy Holi!
