German Exchange Program

November 2025

Below are some reflections from the German exchange students about their time here in Australia.

The exchange is very good so far. Australia is beautiful and the people are kind. We have gone on many excursions, like the beach and into the city. They were lots of fun. My host family is so friendly and they have shown me so many cool attractions. The school is also really good. It is interesting to see how different the school system is. There are many differences between Australia and Germany, for example the cars drive on the other side of the road. At first it was a bit confusing, but I have settled in well.

I really like staying in Australia. The people here are very nice. I like my exchange partner and her family. We’re doing many interesting activities, like going to the zoo, visiting ht ecity, going to a chocolate factory and, my most favourite so far, we went to the beach. I am really enjoying my  time here and am sad I have to leave soon.

Since our arrival, the experience was awesome in my case. I really like the environment and especially the animals in Australia so I really enjoyed our visit to Healesville Sanctuary and also when my family went on a trip with me so I could see kangaroos and many different types of birds. In Australia even school is a bit fun and I you go for a walk you feel like you are on a holidayto a foreign and sunnier country rather than on a school excursion . really greatful for everything that makes these exchanges possible and also that in Gemrany English is a main subject. Otherwise I would be completely lost here

When I arrived at Melbourne Airport, I was welcomed by a super nice family. I spent many wonderful days with this family afterwards. We visited Melbourne for two days with this family afterwards. We visited Melbourne for two days for example, going to Luna Park. Another weekend we went surfing and drove along the Great Ocean Road. Those were really nice trips. The excursions with the German group were also great. We went to different beaches and visited several places in the city together. My time at Mullauna Secondary College is interesting and everybody is friendly. The school has a nice yard. All in all, the time here is really good but the differences compared to Germany, like driving on the other side of the road are still a bit strange.
