Taekwondo National Championships.
In early October, year 12 student Grace became the Australian National Taekwondo champion at the National Championships held in Adelaide!
Her commitment to her training & preparation for this technical & physically demanding sport is all the more impressive due to the fact that she’s had to balance this with studying for her year 12 exams!

U18 National Lawn Bowls Championships.
Year 9 student Marlie will be competing at the U18 National Lawn Bowls Championships in Devonport, Tasmania from November 10-14, where she’ll be up against the best players from around the country! We wish her all the best in this & future competitions, many of which she’s competing against much more experienced athletes!

Melbourne Victory Kickstart Soccer incursion.
In term 1, several of SEDA’s Melbourne Victory-affiliated Business students offered their time to facilitate a Soccer workshop with activities, drills & games designed to increase female participation in ‘the world game’. It was fantastic to see so many year 7’s & 8’s getting involved in the program – the amount of smiles, laughter & enjoyment was clear for everyone to see!

Regional year 8 Cricket.
Despite some tough opponents on the day, Mullauna’s year 8 Cricket team (consisting of year 7’s Charlie, Tom, Lance & Louis, alongside year 8’s Liam B, Elroy, Ollie C, Hamish, Austin, Alex H, Ollie K.G & Archie) toiled hard with the bat, with the ball & in the field, but were ultimately no match for the much bigger (& stronger) Lilydale High School.
Special thanks to year 9 student coaches/helpers Daniel S, Ethan & James F for their guidance on the day, & to Mr. Cotton for taking the team out on the day.

Regional year 8 Volleyball.
In another display of sporting talent, the year 8 Volleyball team (Joel A, Elroy, Ollie C, Hon, AJ, Mark, Josh, Tom S, Will Tan, Jimmy & Alex T) also progressed to Regionals on Monday October 27th, where they played against Monbulk College, Rowville Secondary College & Highvale Secondary College. Their daily lunchtime training sessions in the Stadium nearly resulted in a win on the day, but unfortunately that elusive win eluded them for the second consecutive year! The team should be commended for making it to Regionals for the second year running, however. Special thanks to year 11 student coaches Ryan W & Ollie H, who provided valuable advice & guidance on the day, & to Mr. Verrell for his coaching & bus driving duties.
Regional year 8 Baseball:
With the year 8 cohort well & truly punching above their weight in terms of their representation at Regional sporting events, the year 8 Baseball team competed against traditional rivals Vermont Secondary College & Lilydale High School, where they comfortably accounted for Lilydale, but were ultimately defeated by Vermont who proved to be too strong.
Although they had to wait until halfway through term 4 after their initial success (at Division level) during term 1, Darren, Harry E, Liam B, Mal, Dani, Hamish, Noah, Jarvis, Austin, Alex H, Bailey, Ollie K.G, Ben O, Ben P, Archie & year 7 Lila were ably assisted on the day by year 10 student coaches Haydn & Mitch. Thanks also to Mr. Spong for taking the team out on a postcard-perfect Spring day!
