Introducing 2026 College Captains

Lucy Gordon 

Why did you apply to be a college captain? 

I applied for school captain as I wanted to give back to the college after all the positive experiences it’s given me and as a way to make contributions to the school in my final year. 

What do you think is the best thing about Mullauna?

I love the relationship that the staff have with the students. The way in which everyone knows everyone and there’s friendship-like connections between the teachers and kids is so special.

Something you’d like to change or achieve in your time as captain? 

I would love to help Mullauna participate in the Victorian State Schools Spectacular in the mass dance/choir as its sooo fun and I want students to be able to experience the magic of performing at John Cain arena

Where do you spend most of your time at school? 

In F wing as all my classes are in there haha

How do you like to spend your free time?

I love to dance, play netball and hang out with my beautiful friends

Where would you most like to go on a holiday? Why?

I would love to go to Vanuatu as it sounds like the vibe in those villas 

If you had a superpower, what would it be and why? 

FLYING omg- anyone who says invisibility is lying. 

What would your personal theme song or walk-on song be? 

FREED FROM DESIRE

What’s your pet peeve about teachers?

When they make us shut our laptops when we are trying to take notes on them ugh

Why did you apply to be a college captain?

I would like to advocate for the school, improving on student voice, leadership, and agency. 

What do you think is the best thing about Mullauna?

The relationship between students and teachers. 

Something you’d like to change or achieve this year?

Encouraging curiosity between students and teachers.

Where do you spend most of your time at school?

The gaga pit with my friends... but we don't play gaga

How do you like to spend your free time?

Playing sport, studying, and hanging out with my friends and family

Where would you most like to go on a holiday? Why?

Bali with my family. It's a beautiful place.

If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing, what would it be?

Dogs. I just really like animals.

What’s your favourite dad joke?

What do you get when you mix an angry cow and an angry sheep? 2 animals in a baaaaaad mooooood. 

What’s your pet peeve about teachers?

When they aren't engaging or passionate.

Why did you apply to be a college captain? 

I applied for the role of College Captain because I thoroughly enjoy being a representative for the school at school events and being in positions that enable me to act as a voice for my peers.

What do you think is the best thing about Mullauna?

I think the best thing about Mullauna is how supportive and friendly all the teachers are and how they are always willing to help.

Something you’d like to change or achieve this year? 

Something I would like to achieve next year is to help make SRC more engaging and connected so that everyone feels as though they can raise an idea that we can act upon.

Where do you spend most of your time at school? 

At recess and lunch times, I often spend my time with my friends somewhere near the basketball court, usually in the far gaga pit.

How do you like to spend your free time?

I usually spend my free time hanging out with my friends or visiting family members. I also love to go book shopping (always adding to my collection) and read whenever I can.

Where would you most like to go on a holiday? Why?

I would most like to go on a caravan touring holiday around Australia, completing the Big Lap and travelling down the centre. I would also love to go to Tasmania one day. I would like to do this because I enjoy seeing new places in Australia and would love to see some places I have already visited but cannot remember clearly due to being younger. 

Favourite pizza toppings?

My favourite pizza is Hawaiian, so it’d have to be tomato sauce, cheese, ham and pineapple (controversial but yes), and I always love to add some prawns.

If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing, what would it be?

If I could have an unlimited supply of one thing, it would probably be money, but only so that I could buy an unlimited number of books and travel all the places I want to go.

What’s your favourite dad joke?

‘What did the fish say when it hit a wall?’

‘Dam.’

What’s your pet peeve about teachers?

My pet peeve about teachers is when they say they are going to mark something by a certain date and then they don’t.

Why did you apply to be a college captain? 

I applied to be college captain because I wanted to be a representative for student voice at Mullauna and continue making school a safe place for everyone. 

What do you think is the best thing about Mullauna?

I think that the best thing about Mullauna is that because we are not a big school, teachers know students, and you are able to have nice conversations with staff outside of class. 

Something you’d like to change or achieve this year? 

Something that I’d like to achieve this year is to have a space inside where students, especially junior school students can go during recess and lunch. 

How do you like to spend your free time?

 In my free time I love to dance, go camping, visit the beach or cuddle my cat

If you had a superpower, what would it be and why? 

If I had a superpower, I would want to be able to talk to animals so that I could communicate with my pets. 

Favourite pizza toppings?

My favourite pizza toping is cheese

Where would you most like to go on a holiday? Why?

 If I could go on a holiday anywhere. I would love to visit Greece because it is such a beautiful country and has been on my bucket list for a long time.  

What’s your pet peeve about teachers?

My pet peeve about teachers is when they don’t let you go to the bathroom because someone else is out of class.
