 Term 2

Education Week

This year, Education Week will be celebrated from Monday 18 May to Friday 22 May. The theme, “Showcase Your School,” encourages school communities to celebrate what makes their school special.

To celebrate, Concord will be hosting an Open Morning, where students will showcase the wonderful learning they engage in each and every day. Parents, carers, grandparents, and special friends are warmly invited to visit their child’s classroom and participate in classroom activities.

Open Morning Details:

Bundoora Campus📅 Tuesday 19 May🕤 9:30am – 10:30am

Bundoora families are invited to bring along a morning snack to enjoy together in your child’s classroom.

Watsonia Campus📅 Tuesday 19 May🕤 9:30am – 10:15am

If you have any questions, please contact Flora Nixon or Kath Moore.

We look forward to welcoming our community into our classrooms to celebrate the incredible work our students and staff do each day.

Outdoor Education at Concord

At Concord, we are proud to offer engaging Physical Education and Outdoor Education programs across both campuses. At Watsonia, students participate in PE with Etaoin, while at Bundoora, PE is led by Riley and Outdoor Education by Rachael.

What is Outdoor Education?

Outdoor Education provides students with opportunities to learn by doing, developing knowledge and skills through hands-on experiences, reflection, and applying their learning in natural environments.

Through these experiences, students:

  • Build confidence, independence, and resilience
  • Strengthen teamwork, leadership, and communication skills
  • Improve wellbeing through movement and time outdoors
  • Develop curiosity, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills

This term, students in our Secondary Outdoor Education program have begun rock climbing, challenging themselves to try something new while building confidence, teamwork, and perseverance.

At the end of last term, some students proudly represented Concord at the State Swimming Championships held at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre.

Congratulations to all students who participated, and to those who achieved medals.

We are proud of your efforts and the way you represented Concord.
