Principal's Message

Dear Families and Students,

I trust this final Term 3 edition of What’s On finds all well.

2027 School Captains

As we look ahead to 2027, I am delighted to announce our newly appointed School Captains: Cedric Pang (Captain of Anglican Identity), Peter Everingham (Captain of Community Service), Bosco Su (Captain of Student Voice), and Lucas Denney (Captain of Stewardship). 

Throughout the selection process, these students demonstrated outstanding character, and a genuine desire to serve our school community. The process involved careful consideration of applications, interviews, and leadership qualities, ensuring that those selected are well placed to lead and inspire others. Collectively, these young leaders bring integrity, initiative, compassion, and a strong sense of responsibility. I am confident they will make a significant contribution to school life and serve as excellent role models for their peers.

And of course, I thank with much gratitude, the Captains of 2026, Olivia Thompson, Miley Driscoll, Savannah Kernaghan and Matilda Waser for the aplomb, skill and calmness with which they have fulfilled their duties. There will more about these fine people at later presentations.

Ascension Anglican School: Blessing of Land 

It was a privilege for our school to be involved in the opening celebrations of Ascension Anglican School in Ballarat. Representing Cobram AGS with distinction were Bosco Su, Charli Blacki, and Chase Bouchier, who conducted themselves with great confidence and professionalism during their musical performances at this event. We are proud of the way these students represented our community. I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to Trish Chmiel for her encouragement and support in preparing the students for this important occasion.

Other Events 

As has become customary at this time of year, the closing weeks of term have been exceptionally busy. Students across the school have enjoyed a wide range of learning opportunities and experiences, including AsheFest, the Secondary Divisional Athletics, the Year 3/4 Camp in Beechworth, Parent Teacher Interviews, and the ever-popular Year 5/6 Wax Museum. These events highlight the richness of school life and provide valuable opportunities for students to learn, grow, challenge themselves, and showcase their talents.

Year 12 Early Offers

Finally, it has been wonderful to see many of our Year 12 students receiving early offers for their preferred university courses. These offers are a testament to their hard work throughout their secondary schooling and provide an exciting glimpse into the opportunities that lie ahead. As our Year 12 students enter their final weeks of study before examinations, we wish them every success. We are proud of all they have achieved and look forward to celebrating their accomplishments as they take their next steps beyond school.
