Vision for Teaching and Learning at St Mary MacKillop College - a statement that drives the development of a high performance learning culture at SMMC

At St Mary MacKillop College we have high expectations of our students so we equip them with the knowledge, skills and dispositions for lifelong learning. We pursue excellence through a teaching and learning environment that is inclusive, engaging and encourages growth. We value collaboration, innovation and building strong relationships. As we head towards the end of the term, our students are busy completing final assessments, and our Year 8 to 11 students will soon complete exams.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing how we teach and learn, generating both excitement and concern about its potential to transform education. Recently, an AI traffic light poster outlining guidelines for the ethical use of AI was created and is now displayed in classrooms across the school. We hope this poster serves as a useful guide for students in determining the appropriate use of AI when completing their work.

Year 7 and 8 MacBook returns

Year 7 and 8 students are required to return their MacBooks on Thursday 17 September. This will allow the devices to be checked and any necessary updates to be completed during the holidays. All Year 7 and 8 students are expected to return their MacBook on this day. Students who do not return their MacBook will lose the privilege of accessing their device during the first week of Term 4. If students know they will be absent on Thursday 17 September, they must return their MacBook before this date. Many thanks for your support.
