School Council

Dear Fellow Parents,
With construction and refurbishment of the toilets near the gym now well underway, Natalie Hutchins, our local MP, took a tour of the prep/one toilets with some of our councillors after the Harmony Day assembly today.
School council has asked Natalie to support our request for these toilets to be upgraded as well, as they are over 30 years old and desperately in need of refurbishment. Natalie was very receptive to our pleas and has been a huge supporter of Mackellar over many years. We thank her enormously for doing what she can to support this cause. If we are successful, we shall be sure to let you know.
Next week is the first meeting of the 2026 school council, and we are delighted to welcome some new faces to council as well as some familiar ones. This year, council will be looking at some additional infrastructure upgrades to continue our school refurbishment, deciding which device students will use from 2027 when Bring Your Own Devices are no longer allowed, as well as the usual policy and process review that council undertakes.
As with all updates, we will keep you informed via our school newsletter.
Kind Regards,
Vince Scarfo
School Council President
