Kids Corner

The Kids Corner section of this fortnight’s newsletter features a holiday report written by Ayara in Year 3. I trust you enjoy it just as much as I have! 

My Holiday

Today’s the day, I can’t wait, my mum, dad, sister and I are going to Queensland! I’m already packed, my mum and dad are packing.

Dad called our neighbour to drop us off at the airport. When we got there, I weighed the bags, dad scanned the bags and we went to the checkout. 

After a little while we grabbed some snacks, I played in the play area and then I looked in a shop. Then the announcement came to go to the gates. When we got on the plane, I looked outside the window, and it felt weird when the plane took off. I was excited when the plane landed and then a taxi took us to our resort, which was called the Sea World Resort. When we got there, it was right next to Sea World – the real thing! 

On the 2nd day we went to Movie World, there were rollercoasters and merry-go-rounds, but the scariest ride was Scooby Do. It was really dark and also a huge drop and it went backwards – it was really scary! 

The 3rd day we went to Wet and Wild, and it was my sister’s first time in a pool. It was very exciting for her. I went on the big slides and my sister stayed in the baby pool. One of the big slides was scary because it had a big drop. After a while we went to see a dolphin show and it was really heartwarming.

The 4th day was our last day and we were leaving. We went to a place called Paradise Country and we saw lots of animals such as dingoes, koalas, kangaroos, monkeys and meercats. Then we went to me dad’s friends house and I made a new friend. We played a lot, then I had to go so we called a taxi to drop us off at the airport. We hopped back on the plane and headed home – that was my holiday!
