What's Happening In Secondary

Photography & Digital Animation

In 9/10 Photography and Digital Animation, students have developed their understanding of key photography concepts including aperture, focus and ISO, while also learning the principles of digital animation through character design and basic walk-cycle sequences. They have applied these skills to create a photography folio and portrait piece, as well as a finished animated character and animation design. Through exploring creativity and visual storytelling, students are encouraged to reflect on God as the ultimate Creator and on their own ability to create with purpose and imagination.  

Students have enjoyed the “chill” atmosphere, as they’ve got to express their creative side through “interesting” activities.  

Year 6 and Year 7 Pizza Q&A

We are excited to share a wonderful opportunity for our Year 6 students as they begin preparing for the move into secondary schooling.

On Wednesday 1st July, from 11.30am-1pm, our Year 6 students will be joining with our Year 7 students for a Pizza Q&A session in the Jiloa Centre (a pizza lunch will be provided for all students as part of the session). This is a relaxed and friendly event designed to help ease the transition to secondary schooling by giving students a chance to:

• Ask questions about secondary school life

• Hear firsthand experiences from current Year 7 students

• Build confidence and familiarity in a supportive environment

Hearing directly from peers who have recently made the same transition can be incredibly reassuring and valuable for our students.

We look forward to this session, helping our Year 6 students feel more confident and excited about the next step in their educational journey.

5 & 2 Secondary Breakfast

Our wonderful DCS community blesses our Secondary students every Thursday with delicious breakfast snacks, including a range of fruit, hot Milos, toasties, and drinks. This is a lovely way for students to start their day well, enjoying fresh food, and is now held in the new Secondary building!

 All Secondary students are warmly invited, we’d love to see you there!

Time: 8:05am – 8:25am, every Thursday during school terms.
