Working Together to Prevent Bullying and Support Families

Following the Minister’s recent announcement regarding a united approach to addressing bullying across Queensland, we want to highlight an important support service for parents and carers: Parentline.
Parentline is a free and confidential counselling and support service available to all Queensland parents and carers, operating seven days a week. The service connects families with qualified counsellors who can offer expert guidance, emotional support and, when needed, referrals to other services. It is designed to be a safe, judgement-free space for parents and carers to ask questions, share concerns and gain strategies that support both their own wellbeing and that of their children.
Parentline can assist with a wide range of parenting and family challenges, from managing everyday stress and school-related issues to navigating more complex situations such as family conflict or behavioural concerns.
Some of the key services offered by Parentline include:
• Immediate phone support via 1300 30 1300, with access to qualified counsellors
• Live webchat for real-time, online conversations with professionals
• The ability to pre-book sessions with the same counsellor for continuity and ongoing support
• Online parenting forums, facilitated by trained counsellors, offering shared insights and experiences
• Practical parenting resources available through their website
• Referrals to other family support services if additional or specialised help is needed
Parentline provides an important support network for families, helping to create stronger connections and more confident approaches to parenting.
