What's On In 5/6

District Cross Country

Run, Run, Run! On Thursday, 1st May, a group of dedicated students proudly represented our school at the District Cross Country event held at Ruffey Lake Park. We are thrilled to share that our students achieved outstanding results! Congratulations to Bailey Rowell, who finished in an impressive second place; Justin Leung, who secured fourth; and Caleb Canobie, who crossed the finish line in sixth. Representing the girls, Karina Li also delivered a strong performance, finishing in tenth place.

We are incredibly proud of all our participants for their effort, sportsmanship, and commitment.

SAKG

We are delighted to welcome Deb back to the kitchen! She has wasted no time getting back into the swing of things, cooking up a storm with our students.

To commemorate Anzac Day, students had the opportunity to bake traditional Anzac biscuits. Alongside the hands-on fun of baking, they also explored the origins of the biscuit and its significance in Australian history. It was a meaningful way to combine practical kitchen skills with historical learning, and the delicious results were enjoyed by all!

Busy Bees in the Garden

In the garden, students have been hard at work alongside Ashley, engaging in a range of hands-on activities. From watering and weeding to harvesting fresh produce, the students have been actively involved in caring for and maintaining the garden. These sessions not only teach valuable skills in sustainability and responsibility but also help students connect with nature and understand where their food comes from. It’s been wonderful to see their enthusiasm bloom along with the garden.

Farewell to Miss Gelb

Exciting news from 5/6C! Miss Gelb is expecting a baby, Friday, May 9th, was her last day with the class for the time being. We wish her all the best as she prepares for this wonderful new chapter in her life. In the meantime, we are pleased to announce that Mrs. Athanasopoulos will be stepping in to take over the class for the remainder of the year. We know she will do an excellent job supporting the students as they continue their learning journey!
