What's On In Performing Arts

Our Whitehorse students have been hard at work creating and exploring musical instruments, performance and composition this term - with many highlights!

All across the school, students learned, composed and performed songs celebrating their mothers as part of our Mother’s Day lessons. Students in years 5 and 6 have begun learning the ukulele and our year 3 and 4 students have been busting out the mallets to begin learning xylophones and other tuned percussion instruments. Our junior students have continued their vocal studies and have been learning songs and exploring different elements of music.

It was wonderful to be able to highlight the efforts of our fabulous Grade 3/4 students, who opted in to an assembly performance of A Ram Sam Sam, featuring vocals and untuned percussion instruments. All grade 3/4 students learned the song and actions, and became masters in all instrumental parts, before choosing their favourite to perform. They made it look so easy, but the effort they put into building and refining their skills to get this piece ‘performance ready’ is very admirable - we are all so proud of you!
