BNPS Parents & Friends

2025 has been another busy and rewarding year for the BNPS Parents & Friends Association.
Throughout the year, we have worked hard to deliver a wide range of fundraising and fun-raising activities for our school community.
These events included:
Colour Run (Term 1)
Hot Cross Bun Drive (Term 1)
Election Day Sausage Sizzle and Cake Stall (Term 2)
Mother’s Day Stall (Term 2)
School Disco (Term 3)
Father’s Day Stall (Term 3)
Cake Stall at The Concourse (Term 3)
Parents’ Night Out (Term 4)
Assisting with coordination of the Working Bee (Term 4)
Concert BBQ (Term 4)
Behind the scenes, Parents & Friends also support and administer several important school programs, including the Class Rep Program, the Prep Parent Buddy Program, the school’s participation in Clash of the Courts (Mums’ Netball Competition), serving tea and coffee at Prep Orientation mornings, and organising staff appreciation morning teas throughout the year.
Through our various fundraising efforts in 2025, we are proud to have raised over $35,000.
Our major project this year has been the resurfacing of the basketball court — a significant undertaking that involved months of research, meeting with suppliers, and visiting courts across Melbourne to ensure we selected the best possible surface for our school. We also led discussions with the Sharks Basketball Club and are delighted to announce they have agreed to contribute half of the project cost. We can’t wait to see the finished court in the coming week.
In addition, Parents & Friends funded a range of resources across the school to support student learning and wellbeing, including:
Equipment for the Science rooms
New Prep phonics readers
MiniLit readers
Inclusion resources such as LEGO sets for LEGO Club, wobble chairs and sensory items
Chess sets for the newly formed Chess Club, which competed in its first tournament this year. Year 5 TV in the Great Space
Support for the new gardens in front of Year 2
A huge thank you to all of our volunteers in 2025 - whether you flipped sausages, managed crowds at the disco, baked cakes, or shovelled mulch. None of this would be possible without the generous involvement of our parent community.
Parents & Friends is a relatively small group of parents working behind the scenes to deliver these activities, and our doors are always open.
Meetings are usually held once a term, with smaller sub-committees formed for individual projects. We would love to welcome more parents and hope to see you at one of our meetings next year 😊
