Principal's Report

Big Week Ahead
There is plenty going on this week. Our 3s and 4s are enjoying visits to Earth Ed and the feedback from the students and staff has been very positive. And it’s a big week for students in the junior school, with the grade 2 sleepover taking place on Thursday night and the P-2 sports also happening on Thursday.
The Pre-Schooler program is now into its third week. As with previous years it’s so good for our kinder aged kids to spend some time in the school environment in term 4, enabling them to start school the following year feeling confident and comfortable.
Our Bulldogs Read students have their finale event, concluding their involvement in the program this year.
Disco
As expected, the disco was very well attended, and the kids had a lovely time. They thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with their friends, dancing up a storm and spending some hard-earned cash at the canteen. The kids were all so well behaved, which is a credit to everyone.
Well done to our EBT Team (Mr White and Mrs Brokenshire) for organising the event and to the staff that volunteered their time to come along and supervise. A big thank you and well done to our team of parents serving at the disco canteen. Everyone would have gone home completely exhausted.
And of course, thanks to all of the parents who supported the event by sending their kids along and helping out with costumes. Overall, the event raised $1831 for the EBT program.
Organising Classes for 2027
Term 4 is slipping by and next month the process of organising students into classes for next year will begin. If there are significant issues we need to be aware of when allocating your child to a class, please make sure they have been made known to Nicole, Narelle or myself by Friday, November 13th. Teachers will be meeting soon after to begin sorting children into classes.
It is not our intention to provide parents with the opportunity to select a teacher of choice. We have developed a very strong teaching team and parents can be confident the needs of their child will be met by any member of our team.
Developing well-balanced classes is best for everyone and that can be made difficult if there are large numbers of requests – as such, it is important that placement requests be founded on significant reasons and not related to specific teachers.
If you have made a request in the past and would like that to extend to 2027, we recommend you make that clear with us. That helps take some of the judgement off the table at our end when determining if historical requests remain relevant.
We try to accommodate parent requests relating to student placements, but you will understand this is not always possible.
It is also important when we come to organise classes that we know of students who will not be at our school next year. If your family is moving on, please let us know as soon as possible.
