It's a Six for Declan Z!

Declan Z - Victorian Schoolboys Cricket Team Selection

Each year, State School Sports Victoria selects a representative 12 and Under cricket team for the annual School Sports Australia national tournament. Trials are open to all interested schoolboys and 1000 applications across the state are typically received. The trial process involves multiple rounds, starting in March/April of each year.  A  final trial squad of 36 boys is ultimately chosen to partake in practice matches and intensive skill assessments over two separate days in August where 13 players are ultimately selected to represent the State.

Ormond Primary is proud to advise that our school captain, Declan Z, has been selected in this year's Victorian Schoolboys Cricket Team.  Declan plays for the local Ormond Cricket Club and has competed with distinction for metropolitan representative sides over the past year. He is a talented opening batsman by all accounts but is equally recognised for his leg spin and fielding skills.

The national tournament this year will be held in Newcastle in late October and the school wishes Declan all the best.    

Congratulations, Mae!

A huge congratulations to Mae Z (56S), who was recognised this afternoon at the Glen Eira City Council My Brother Jack Awards ceremony.

Mae received a Highly Commended certificate in the Senior Primary category for her wonderful contribution to the awards.

This is a fantastic achievement and a wonderful recognition of Mae’s creativity, effort and talent. 

We are incredibly proud of you, Mae, and all that you have accomplished!

Gymnastics Super Star!

Layla participated in the Level 5 Women’s Regional Gymnastics Championships on Sunday 13th September. She placed 1st overall on bars, 2nd overall on vault, 3rd overall on beam, and 6th overall on floor. Her bars score of 9.575, elevated her to 1st place and she was awarded Regional Champion. She has now qualified for the Victorian State Championships in mid October. Congratulations!
