Empathetic Listening

This Empathy lesson Foundation students  will explore the key components of empathetic listening and how it helps to form positive and caring relationships.

Year 1 and 2

Listening with care and curiosity

This Empathy lesson  Year 1 & 2 students will explore what it means to be an empathetic learner and friend. Through peer interactions, discussion and reflection, students will learn more about each other and develop their understanding of how a curious mindset is an important part of building empathy. 

Year 3 and 4

Empathy through character strengths

This Empathy lesson for Year 3 & 4 students explores how empathy can be shown through the character strengths of kindness, love and social intelligence. Through engaging activities and discussions, students will not only grasp the concept of empathy, but also develop a deeper understanding of how acts of kindness, expressions of love and social awareness contribute to empathetic interactions.

Year 5 and 6

Empathy and Kindness

In this Empathy lesson for Year 5 & 6 students they will explore why showing empathy and performing acts of kindness creates positive feelings. Students will create a model of a brain cell to explain the role of oxytocin in the body.
