Principal's Report

End of Term 1 Newsletter

As we reach the end of a busy and highly successful Term 1, I would like to sincerely thank our entire school community, students, staff and families, for the positive start to the year.

Term 1 is always filled with new beginnings, establishing routines and building relationships. It has been wonderful to see our students settle in so well, demonstrating enthusiasm for their learning, kindness towards others, and pride in their school.

We are excited to let families know that our revamped website is now up and running, make sure that you check it out at https://torquaycollege.vic.edu.au/

One of the highlights of the term has been our Years 1–4 Swimming Programs.

Across the program, students showed tremendous growth, not only in their swimming ability, but also in their confidence, resilience and willingness to step outside their comfort zone. For many, it was about trying something new, overcoming challenges, and celebrating personal achievements in the water.

We were incredibly proud of the way students supported one another, demonstrated positive behaviour, and embraced every opportunity to learn important water safety skills.

A big thank you to our staff for their organisation and care throughout the program, and to our families for ensuring students were prepared each day. Your support plays a vital role in making these experiences so successful. It was also so pleasing to have such positive comments from members of the public about the manner in which our student represented Torquay College.

As we head into the holidays, we wish all of our families a happy, safe and enjoyable Easter. 🐣

The term break is an important opportunity for everyone to rest, reset and recharge after a busy start to the year. We encourage families to take this time to slow down, enjoy time together and make the most of the beautiful autumn weather.

Whether it’s getting outdoors and being active, spending quality time with family and friends, enjoying local events or short trips or simply relaxing at home.

We hope all students return in Term 2 feeling refreshed, re-energised and ready for another exciting term of learning.  Above all, we ask that everyone stays safe over the holiday period, particularly when travelling or enjoying outdoor activities.
