School Sports - What's Happening

BENDIGO DIVISION ATHLETICS 2025

On Monday the 15th of September we have 16 students represent Holy Rosary at the Divisional Athletics Carnival in Bendigo. We had 11 individual events and 2 relay teams, the 10yr and 11yr boys' team. The weather certainly turned itself on for this day with a very nice 24-degree day and our students performed extremely well. We are very proud of all students who made it to this stage. We also want to congratulate 6 students who made it in the top two and now go onto the next stage the Loddon Mallee Regional Athletics. This event will be held in Bendigo on Monday the 13th of October.

The 6 students who progressed are:

• Ngaire M - Discus
• Millie W - Hurdles
• Bailey M - Discus
• Mack G - High Jump and Long Jump
• Indy B - 800m
• Lucas S - Long Jump

We wish these students all the best and we will be cheering them on from a far. 

BASKETBALL CARNIVAL 2025

On Friday 5th September, 13 students went to Red Energy Arena to represent Holy Rosary in the Bendigo Schools Basketball Carnival. We had a boy's team and a girls team competing and all students applied themselves extremely well. Some games can be a challenge on this day (there isn't divisions), as they mix up the schools that you compete against. Some schools with enrollments of 550+ and some less than 300. The boys' team finished the day with 3 wins from 6 games and the girls finished with 4 wins from 7 games. We were very proud of the efforts from both teams, and the students really enjoyed their day and had a lot of fun. We want to say a special thank you to Dave Cini for volunteering to coach the boys team. 

GRADE 5/6 INTERSCHOOL SPORTS

Students in Grade 5 and 6 will get the opportunity to try out and represent our school at the following sports (with dates) in 2025:

Cricket Blast Carnival (Term 4) - Friday 24th October
