FOUNDATION EXCURSION
The 18th of September saw our Foundation cohort take off by bus to visit the much anticipated ‘Kyabram Fauna Park’. With major excitement and longing to visit various iconic and adored Australian animals, to say the least FMD and FJM were buzzing!
Meerkats, kangaroo’s, dingo's and reptiles gained a large fan base with many of our Foundation students astonished by seeing these beloved animals for the first time in real life.
Our Foundation students also had the opportunity to further develop their knowledge and understanding on habitats. Wetlands, drylands, rain forests and oceans, just ask our foundation students, they know it all!
We extend our thanks to Kyabram Fauna Park, and all attending staff. A very memorable day for our Foundation students!

FOUNDATION ANIMAL RESEARCH PROJECT
This term, our Foundation students have been busy researching an animal of their choice. They explored their animal’s unique characteristics, its habitat, what it eats, and other interesting facts. To bring their learning to life, students created their animal from clay and designed its habitat using a range of craft materials.
On Wednesday, parents and special visitors were invited into the classroom to see the children’s wonderful creations and share in their learning. It was a fantastic celebration of the students’ creativity, knowledge, and hard work!
GRADE 4 EXCURSION
Last we went to the MCG and ACMI in Melbourne. At the MCG we learnt how they make the grass different shades of green. We got to go in the glass boxes and see the footy hall of fame!
At ACMI we learnt how they made movies in the olden days. We got to play video games and learn how they design movies. Our favourite part was the MCG tour because we got to go in the change rooms and boxes. - Indy Brown & Emilia Walker G4
AUSSIE KIDS ROCK
On Wednesday 10th of September, Grade 3 to 6 went to Aussie Kids Rock at Ted's Shed. First we did heavy metal, second we did country, third we did blues, and then we did rap. We think it was it was fun because we discovered lots of different music styles, they made good jokes, and they let us join in the acting. - Rory & Aden (3JO)
2025 - TERM 3 ART AWARDS
GRADE 5 - TERM 3 ART AWARDS
During Term 3 the Grade 5 students explored the art of photography as they studied media art through the Pic-collage app and photo-collage style of David Hockey. David termed this work as “joiners.” Students have learnt to explain the different between the two types which he called ‘grid style’ and ‘freestyle.’ Numerous photos were taken of household items, self-portraits and nature to create several collages. Students then chose their favourite style and object of choice to complete their assessment task.
Congratulations to Patrick for the creative thinking skills used to demonstrate movement in time using the playground game of tic-tac-toe. Special mentions are awarded to Cooper for using shadows to show movement and Charlie for demonstrating great use of the rule of thirds in freestyle joiners.

GRADE 6 - TERM 3 ART AWARDS
In term 3, Grade 6 students explored visual conventions, as they analysed Georgia O'Keeffe's use of colour, form and unity to communicate ideas and perspective through abstract art. Students learnt how to apply and blend chalk pastels to increase the complexity of detail in their work. Congratulations to Maddi for her use of colour to create depth in the form of her subject, showing careful attention to detail. Special mentions are awarded to Makenzie for showing texturing and layering adding richness to the overall composition and Sibylla for her use of colour and form that invites the viewer into an abstract image of a giraffe. Well done girls for the way you have demonstrated your understanding of abstract in the style of O’Keeffe.
