Word Study- No word study for week 9

Reader’s and Writer’s workshop:

We have revisited writing narrative texts during our Writer's Workshop sessions. Students have explored the key features of narratives, including creating engaging characters, developing interesting settings, and building a clear sequence of events. They have been working on adding descriptive language, dialogue, and detail to make their stories more engaging for readers.

Mathematics:  We are continuing to explore measurement and the metric system. We continue to learn about the system of measurement and have been exploring length, capacity, mass and temperature.

We have been focusing on perimeter and area, exploring how these measurements are used in everyday life. To demonstrate their understanding, students will be designing a dream house, calculating and applying both perimeter and area to create an accurate floor plan. This hands-on project encourages problem-solving, creativity, and the practical application of mathematical concepts.

Unit of Inquiry: We have begun exploring our next Unit of Inquiry, How We Organise Ourselves. As part of this unit, students are learning about classification and how people organise information, objects, and living things into groups based on shared characteristics.
