Secondary school transition program

Today, our grade 6 students were visited by staff and students from Westernport Secondary College to begin their preparation for secondary school. This partnership is vital and although not all students will enrol in Westernport, the support provided can be used for all transition experiences.

Positive Behaviour for Learning

As we continue to embed the PBL Framework at St Mary's we are pleased to share with you, our Values and Behaviour Matrix.

Our whole community have taken on our Values of Respect, Responsibility and Safety with such positive buy in which is contributing to the improvement in behaviour across our school. You will see on the Matrix, that there are listed expected behaviours for each Value and for different times or locations of our school. We refer to this Matrix during explicit teaching as well as when responding t or following up on behaviour incidents.

Thank you for the support!

We also have a school wide Break card which all students have access to in their classes. Using this card support students' independence to identify if they are feeling overwhelmed and need a quick re-set and also allows teachers the opportunity to offer a break. Carrying this with them whilst on the break, shows all staff and students that it is an approved break.

MACSSIS Survey

All families will now have received their log in details for the MACS School Improvement Survey. The data collected from these surveys is important in future planning and goal setting for our school, as well as a great opportunity for parents to provide feedback.

If you did not receive a link or need some support to complete the survey, please come and see me.

Students in years 4-6 will be completing the student survey this week.
