Mathmatics

In Maths, students will be engaging in learning opportunities that build their understanding of fractions and statistics. They will explore equivalent fractions, compare and order fractions, and add and subtract fractions using efficient strategies.
Students will also collect, represent and interpret data using a range of graphs and displays. They will be using mathematical vocabulary including equivalent fractions, numerator, denominator, data, range, and mode.
Students will engage in tasks related to solving real-world mathematical problems, including interpreting graphs, conducting simple statistical investigations, and applying their understanding of fractions to everyday contexts.
Students will also be engaging in learning opportunities to assist them in developing mathematical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and confidence when explaining and justifying their thinking.
This term, as part of their Home Learning, students will continue to use Maths Online, as this will provide students with an opportunity to consolidate mathematical concepts taught and to develop fluency in times tables and number sense skills. Students will continue to be given the set task at the beginning of each week to be completed by the Friday of that same week.
