Writing  

As part of grammar children will be identifying relative clauses in sentences to enhance the descriptive quality of their writing. They will be writing sentences using the conjunctions because/but/so.

They will be reading and discussing non-fiction texts and building background knowledge on the topic of Poland. In writing children will be finding out about the purpose, structure and features of an information report. They will be planning and writing paragraphs for an information report on Poland related to geography (location and landmarks), people and culture, fauna and flora, and Australia’s interconnection with Poland.

Each week students will be provided a 20-minute touch typing skill session through the Dance Mat Typing Computing Game. All students have access to their own computer and, through this web-based educational platform, are learning about proper finger positioning and improving their typing accuracy and rate.
