Religious Education

Dear Parents and Carers

On Friday, 24th October, St Luke’s underwent a review of our Catholic Identity, and we are proud to share the affirming outcomes with our community.

The review highlighted our many strengths, including our commitment to prayer and liturgy, staff formation, strong parish connections, and our unwavering dedication to the mission of Catholic Education. We were especially commended for our inclusive approach, welcoming students and families from all faith backgrounds, and for our meaningful engagement with the wider community—particularly our valued connection with Shepparton Access.

It was heartening to hear that our efforts to keep Catholic Education at the heart of all we do at St Luke’s are being recognised. This affirmation encourages us to continue nurturing a faith-filled, inclusive, and connected school community.

Honouring Remembrance Day

Next Tuesday, several of our school leaders will attend the Remembrance Day service at the Shepparton Cenotaph, participating in the wreath-laying ceremony to honour those who have served our country.

Remembrance Day, along with Anzac Day, holds a vital place in our national story. These commemorations remind us of the courage, sacrifice, and service of the men and women who have defended Australia in times of war and peacekeeping. Their legacy continues to shape our values and freedoms today.

As educators, it’s important that we keep these events at the forefront of our teaching. They offer powerful opportunities to help students understand the significance of service, sacrifice, and gratitude in Australian history. There is always much for us to learn—and much to be thankful for.

Lest we forget.

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults

St Brendan’s Parish,

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults.

Are you searching for more peace in your life, do you feel something is missing in your life?

The RCIA process leads people through what the Catholic church believes and teaches. Our focus is on how the church and our faith lead us to a relationship with God, through joining a community of faith.

The RCIA process begins on Thursday the 9th of Oct at 7.30pm in the St Brendan’s Pastoral centre, with an enquiry night.

The role of sharing our faith with others is central to our own faith, this sometimes happens through us asking a question, or listening as others ask questions.

The RCIA team of MaryAnne Demase, Geoff Woodhouse, Sr Hartini and myself lead the process on behalf of Our Parish please keep us in your prayers and seek to be informed on what is happening in the RCIA process and who is involved.

Any questions can be directed to Anthony 58212633 Tuesday or Thursday.
