Celebrating Success and the Lasting Impact of Teachers
Dear Families,
As we approach the end of another vibrant school year, it is time to pause and celebrate the many successes—big and small—that our students have achieved. Whether it’s mastering a tricky maths concept, showing kindness to a classmate, or performing confidently in a school assembly, each moment of growth is a step toward a bright future.
At the heart of these achievements are our dedicated teachers. Their influence extends far beyond the classroom walls and the school year. Teachers shape not only academic understanding but also character, resilience, and a love of learning. The encouragement they offer, the challenges they set, and the care they show leave a lasting imprint on young minds.
With this in mind, I would like to celebrate Emily Putman, who has been elected to the leadership position of Jennings House Captain at Notre Dame College for 2026. Emily was appointed by her peers and the staff through a process that involves nomination, development seminars, interviews and, finally, voting by the College community. As you would imagine, from a graduating class of 261 students, Emily’s appointment is a great feat.
The St Luke’s community is very proud of Emily, and of her achievements. Notre Dame College is acutely aware that student performance would not be possible without the foundation laid by her teachers here in the Primary years of her schooling.

Research and experience tell us that the impact of a great teacher can echo throughout a child’s life. Many adults can still recall a teacher who believed in them, who sparked a passion, or who helped them see their own potential. These memories are powerful reminders of the role educators play in building confident, capable, and compassionate individuals.
As parents and carers, your support in celebrating these successes—whether through a kind word, a proud smile, or a shared moment of reflection—helps reinforce the value of effort and growth. Together, we create a community where every child is seen, heard, supported, and inspired.
Let’s continue to cheer on our students and thank the teachers who guide them with such care and commitment. The seeds planted today will grow into the strengths and stories of tomorrow.
REMINDER:
Change in Morning Supervision Time
The gates are opened at 8:30am. We now have the option available for before school care from 7:00am-9:00am. Please contact Uniting for information and costs.
SCHOOL FAIR
We look forward to seeing families and friends at our School Fair on Friday 28th November, for an evening of fun, festivities and fundraising!
CARPARK
Please be SAFE by using the pedestrian crossings and watching your children as they enter and exit your vehicle. Please DO NOT stop on the road and let children get out or run to the car and jump in. You need to park and stop before your child leaves the supervised area.
ENROLMENTS 2026
If you are leaving St Luke's for any reason, please let the office know. It helps with planning for 2026.
If existing families have someone starting school in 2026 and have not enrolled their child, please ask the office staff for an application pack. We have started interviews. These should not be a stressful time. It helps us with planning for their orientation days and 2026.
Uniform
Keep encouraging your children to look after their uniform as lost property is growing.
Hats are very important. We will continue to remind the children to wear them.
Regards,
