Wellbeing

Dance, Dance, Dance!

Tuesday 9th June was our whole school Wellbeing day for Term 2 and Dance Curriculum were absolutely fantastic! We were so lucky to have them present this workshop day for us.

The day began with the 5/6s heading to the hall and learning a short dance to Bony M’s, Sunny. They lined up in rows and after 40mins, had learned a new dance routine. The P-2s followed next and then the 3/4s after lunch, learning some moves to Another One Bites the Dust by Queen. After this, there was a whole school concert. Everyone did so well and had so much fun!

A whole school wellbeing day pauses the standard academic curriculum in order to teach, practice and celebrate emotional and mental health. We all benefit from building stronger relationships, as this also reduces stigma around mental health and fosters community connection and belonging. Wellbeing days are inclusive, build skill development and help students manage anxiety and stress, while supporting engagement.

Have a look at the smiles on these faces. You can see what a wonderful day it was and we thank Dance Curriculum for attending and giving us a fantastic Wellbeing day!
