School Closure Day (Monday 13th July)

Students Resume (Tuesday 14th July)

Dear Families,

Our school staff were excited to be recognised as the 82nd top Victorian Catholic and Independent School for 2026 by News Corp from 2,000 schools.

Holy Family School is ranked 17th out of all Catholic Primary Schools in Victoria.

At Holy Family School, we believe every student deserves the opportunity to participate in NAPLAN and have their learning recognised. We do not select which students sit the assessments; instead, we encourage all students to take part and do their personal best.

While this approach may sometimes impact our overall ranking, it reflects our commitment to inclusion, equity and respect for every learner. We are proud to be a school that values each child's growth and achievement.

Academic success is important, but it is only one measure of a child's development. We also celebrate the qualities that cannot always be captured by a test score—faith, wellbeing, resilience, creativity, leadership, kindness and a commitment to learning.

Our focus remains on nurturing the whole child and ensuring every student feels

valued, supported and challenged to reach their full potential.

The team of data and education journalists used a formula that assessed more than 2000 schools around the nation across five key criteria, each with a different weighting, to create a final ranking score for each school.

The formula places emphasis on academic achievement but also takes into account student engagement, class sizes and school community demographics.

It assesses:

  • 2025 NAPLAN year 3 results across five subjects
  • 2025 NAPLAN year 5 results across five subjects
  • Student attendance levels (proportion attending school at least 90 per cent of the time)
  • Student-teacher ratio (based on full-time equivalent teaching staff and enrolments)
  • ICSEA (Index of Community Socio-Educational Advantage) rating

Thank you to all of our families, students and staff for making this achievement possible.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.” — John 14:27

Prince of Peace, calm every storm within me. Quiet my anxious thoughts and remove the fears that disturb my heart. Help me remember that no situation is beyond Your control.

Fill me with confidence in Your promises and assurance in Your care. Teach me to rest in Your presence rather than becoming overwhelmed by life’s pressures. Let Your peace guard my mind and strengthen my spirit.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, may Your tranquility dwell within me and guide me through every challenge I face.

Amen.
