What's Been Happening in Prep
Minibeasts Incursion
Our Prep students had an exciting and hands-on learning experience during our recent Mini Beast Incursion! Throughout the day, the children discovered the fascinating world of insects and other tiny creatures through a range of engaging activities.
One of the highlights was the opportunity to gently hold a beautiful butterfly, giving students a close-up look at its delicate wings and learning about its life cycle. The children also became mini scientists as they searched through trays of soil and leaf litter to discover hidden bugs, observing the different mini beasts and discussing their unique features.
To finish the experience, students expressed their creativity by creating their own mini beast-inspired artworks. Their colourful creations reflected the many insects they had explored throughout the day.
The incursion was a wonderful way to bring our learning to life, encouraging curiosity, careful observation, and a greater appreciation for the amazing creatures that share our environment. It was a fun-filled day that our Prep students will remember for a long time!
Prep 100 Days
What a fantastic day our Prep students had celebrating 100 Days of School! It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on just how much learning, growth and confidence they have developed over the past 100 days.
We began our celebration with a special assembly, where we looked back on the incredible learning journey our Prep students have been on since their very first day of school. It was a proud moment to celebrate all they have achieved together.
Back in the classroom, students enjoyed a range of fun 100-day themed activities. They created self-portraits showing what they might look like at 100 years old, complete with white hair and plenty of wrinkles!
Next, it was time to turn up the music for a lively 100 Days Disco. Students danced, sang and celebrated together, showing off their best moves with their glow sticks.
A favourite activity of the day was making delicious teacup treats using biscuits, marshmallows and lollies. After all of the fun, everyone enjoyed a well-earned pizza lunch together.
To finish our celebrations, our Prep students spent time with their wonderful Year 6 buddies, creating colourful 100 Days crowns. It was a lovely opportunity for our buddies to work together, share conversations and celebrate this special milestone.
We are incredibly proud of everything our Prep students have accomplished in their first 100 days of school and look forward to many more exciting learning experiences throughout the rest of the year!
What's Been Happening in Year 4
Our Year 4 students recently enjoyed an exciting overnight camp at Alexandra Adventure Resort on 27th and 28th July. Camp was an integral part of our learning program, providing students with the opportunity to extend their learning, build independence and strengthen their social skills in a fun and supportive environment outside the classroom.
Throughout the two days, students enthusiastically participated in a wide range of adventurous and team-building activities, including the Flying Fox, Giant Swing, rock climbing, archery, the low ropes course, a Treasure Hunt and whole group games. They also enjoyed a variety of sporting activities such as soccer, beach volleyball, basketball and footy. On Monday evening, students had a fantastic time at the disco and Bingo, where there were plenty of smiles, laughter and opportunities to connect with their classmates.
The camp experience was filled with fun, friendship and personal growth. It was wonderful to see students encouraging one another, stepping outside their comfort zones, demonstrating resilience and celebrating each other's achievements. We are incredibly proud of the positive attitude, teamwork and enthusiasm shown by all of our Year 4 students, making this year's camp a memorable experience for everyone involved.
