THE FEAST OF ST. MARY OF THE CROSS MACKILLOP
Next Saturday, we celebrate the Feast of Australia's own, St. Mary of the Cross. To celebrate our Australian saint, here are 5 FUN FACTS ABOUT ST MARY MACKILLOP
Mary Mackillop was the first saint from Australia, wow!
She wore a brown dress everyday, because she didn't want to seem ‘fancy’
She walked, rode horses, and took big boats all over Australia to help people.
She turned an old horse stable into a school for poor children.
She needed used a fake name to travel across the world to Italy so she could talk to the Pope and protect her schools.
WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR THE ELDERLY
Dear Lord,
Thank you for the elders who can share stories of their generations, let them have long, fulfilling lives and let them be healthy.
Allow them to share their wisdom with their grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bless their beautiful hearts and souls with the holy spirit.
