Term 3, Week 3

This week, our Year 4 students had a fantastic time at their overnight camp at Alexandra Adventure Resort. They were blessed with not a drop of rain, which allowed them to participate in all the planned activities. School camps are an important part of a child's learning journey. They provide opportunities for students to step outside their comfort zones, participate in adventurous activities that challenge them, build resilience, develop independence and strengthen their confidence. Camps also provide opportunities for students to learn and grow together in a new environment. It was pleasing to hear from both the camp leaders and our teachers about how well-behaved and respectful our Year 4 students were. They represented our school with pride and brought our school values to life through respectful, responsible, safe and kind behaviours. We are incredibly proud of the way our students embraced every experience and thank our dedicated staff for making this memorable learning opportunity possible.

Our annual PJ Day was another huge success, bringing our community spirit together in support of a meaningful cause. This year, we raised over $1,300 to support children in foster care. It was wonderful to see so many students, staff and parents embracing the day by arriving in their most creative, colourful and cosy pyjamas. Congratulations to all of our prize winners, whose imaginative and creative pyjama outfits certainly stood out. From matching sets, superhero sleepwear to quirky onesies and handmade accessories, there was no shortage of creativity on display. Thank you to everyone who donated, dressed up, and helped make this year's PJ Day such a memorable event. Your support will make a real difference for children in foster care while also reminding our students of the importance of kindness, empathy, and giving back. Our winners below:

On Tuesday, our Prep students celebrated 100 Days of School! It was a wonderful opportunity to recognise just how much our youngest learners have grown and achieved since beginning their school journey. The celebrations began with a special assembly, where families joined us to witness and reflect on the progress our Prep students have made over the past 100 days, from learning new letters and numbers to building friendships, developing independence and growing in confidence. The excitement continued throughout the day with a variety of fun activities all centred around the number 100. One of the highlights of the day was seeing both students and teachers dressed as if they were 100 years old! With grey wigs, glasses, walking sticks, and plenty of imaginative costumes. A big thank you to our dedicated Prep team for the incredible effort, planning and enthusiasm they invested in making the day so special. Their commitment to creating engaging and fun learning experiences ensured that our Prep students celebrated this important milestone in a way they will remember for years to come. 

This term, we are proud to support the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal through our Hoodies, Woollies and Winter Goodies Donation Drive. We are inviting our families to help those in need within our wider community by donating new winter essentials. We are collecting items such as beanies, scarves, gloves and blankets to provide warmth and comfort to individuals and families experiencing hardship. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to demonstrate kindness, compassion and our commitment to living out our Gospel values by supporting others.

One of our favourite times of the year is celebrating Book Week; it’s a wonderful opportunity to promote the joy and importance of reading across our school community. Reading not only supports academic growth but also inspires imagination, creativity and a lifelong love of learning. We will be having our annual Book Week parade on Monday 24th August at 9 am. Students are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite book character. Parents are welcome to attend the parade. Looking forward to seeing the imaginative costumes our students come up with this year and, of course, our staff! 

Our Book Fair will also be open from Tuesday, 25th - Monday, 31st August, before and after school. There will be a range of books to purchase and a chance to expand your home library. 

This year, we will be holding a special Father's Day morning activity where dads and special father figures are invited to spend time with their child in the classroom on Thursday 3rd September, from 7.45 am to 8.40 am. This will be a wonderful opportunity to share in your child's learning, participate in a fun classroom activity together, and create some special Father's Day memories before the school day begins. For those attending the Father's Day activity, we kindly invite a small cash donation, with all proceeds supporting the Prostate Cancer Foundation. Donations will be collected on the morning of your child's scheduled activity.

Our Father’s Day stall will be on Friday 4th September

Due to the cold and rainy winter weather, our Friday whole school assemblies this term will be held online. Parents and carers who would like to attend our assemblies are invited to join us in the school library at 3:00 pm, where the assembly will be livestreamed at school. 

The Smile Squad school dental program will be visiting our school during Term 3, from Tuesday 8 September to Friday 18 September 2026. Smile Squad is the Victorian Government's free school dental program, providing all students with access to a free dental check-up, preventive care and any treatment required. This is a great opportunity for students to receive quality dental care at school at no cost to families. To enable your child to participate, please complete and return the Smile Squad consent form that was sent on COMPASS by Friday 31 July 2026. If you require a paper copy of the consent form, these are available from the school office.
