Principal's Update

Dear families, 

Congratulations and Thank You

As we bring Term 3 to a close, I would like to congratulate all of our students, from our youngest Prep students through to our graduating Year 12s, on another outstanding term of growth, learning and achievement.

This week, our Year 12 VCE students are completing their final practice examinations in preparation for the VCE examination period, which begins midway through Term 4. We wish them every success as they enter this important final stage of their secondary schooling.

The final ten weeks of the term are always among the busiest and most significant of the school year. While winter weather and seasonal illnesses can create additional challenges, it is remarkable how much our students and staff achieve during this period. Over the past ten weeks we have celebrated strong academic growth, impressive sporting achievements, creative accomplishments, and meaningful community connections across the college.

Throughout this term, we have seen countless examples of resilience across the college. Whether overcoming challenges in the classroom, on the sporting field, or in personal circumstances, our students have continued to demonstrate determination, adaptability and a commitment to growth.

We have also recently completed our Semester 2 Parent/Carer and Teacher Interviews. I would like to sincerely thank our parents and carers for taking the time to attend and discuss their child's learning progress. These conversations are an important part of the partnership between home and school and play a critical role in supporting student success.

Semester 2 Parent/Carer and Teacher Interviews can have a significant turning point in the academic year. While Semester 1 interviews are often focused on establishing routines, setting goals and developing successful learning habits, Semester 2 interviews focus on consolidating progress, addressing any remaining learning gaps and preparing students for a strong finish to the school year. The Interviews provide an important opportunity for families and staff to work together to ensure every student is well positioned to achieve their best outcomes.

Our Pathways team was especially busy throughout the interview period, with many families seeking advice and guidance about future education, training and career opportunities. We thank our Pathways staff for their ongoing commitment to helping students and families make informed decisions about future pathways.

To our primary families, thank you for your continued partnership and support. Whether celebrating literacy growth, participating in sporting opportunities or exploring new learning experiences, your children have demonstrated curiosity, resilience and enthusiasm throughout the term.

To our secondary families, thank you for supporting your young people through a demanding term filled with assessments, subject selections, pathway planning and leadership opportunities. Your encouragement and involvement make a significant difference to their engagement and success.

As a college community, we are incredibly proud of our students and deeply appreciative of the dedication shown by our families. Together, we share a commitment to ensuring every student is supported to achieve their personal best and to pursue future pathways with confidence and optimism.

I wish all students, families and staff a safe, restful and well-deserved school holiday break, and I look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday, October 6 for an exciting and successful Term 4.
