TENISON'S BIGGEST MORNING TEA
MR LUKE CROW & MS JENNIFER SALVO
On Tuesday, the 13th May, Tenison staff and students gathered for a heartwarming cause as we hosted our annual Biggest Morning Tea in support of the Cancer Council. The event brought our community together over plates of delicious treats and a shared commitment to helping those touched by cancer.
This year’s morning tea was a wonderful success, raising $1073.25 to contribute to vital cancer research, prevention programs, and support services. From homemade slices to freshly baked scones, muffins, cookies and warming cups of hot milo and chocolate, the morning was filled with generosity and hospitality.
A huge thank you goes to our House Captains, Olivia, Alesha, Cal and Jobe, volunteers, homeroom teachers and above all our Tenison students, whose planning and efforts made the event possible. With over 250 plates sold, we are grateful for the generosity and support shown.
As an extension to this fundraiser, we would also like to recognise one of our senior house captains, Alesha, who made the brave decision to cut and donate her hair to Sustainable Salons, an organisation that works to turn hair into wigs for those touched by cancer. Alesha’s selfless act is an example of ways in which we can work to make a difference in the lives of others and reflects the values exemplified by our school. We are grateful for the support shown to Alesha by our school community.
Events such as The Biggest Morning Tea and Alesha’s donation are more than just fundraising events, but a reminder of the power of community and compassion, which are at the heart of Tenison House.
