Catholic Education Week Celebration: A Joyful Gathering of Hope and Community
Today, we were blessed to gather in celebration of Catholic Education Week, joining together with St Mary's Primary School for a truly memorable event. With over 1,000 people in attendance, our combined Mass and shared lunch became a powerful expression of unity, faith, and joy.
This year’s theme, Jubilee 2025 – Pilgrims of Hope, inspired us to walk together as a faith-filled community, drawing strength from the words of Romans 15:13: “May the God of hope fill you with joy and peace.” Throughout the celebration, this message rang loud and clear—through song, prayer, laughter, and shared stories.
The Mass was a beautiful reflection of our shared commitment to Catholic education, with students and staff from both schools contributing through readings, music, and liturgical roles. The spirit of collaboration and reverence made for a moving experience, reminding us of the deep sense of connection that Catholic education fosters.
Following the liturgy, the grounds came alive with joy as we shared a communal lunch. It was heartwarming to see students from both schools mingling, playing, and enjoying time together—living examples of hope and peace in action.
We are grateful to all those who made the day possible—our staff, volunteers, clergy, and community members—for their support and dedication. Events like these remind us that we are part of something greater, a pilgrim people journeying in faith, led by hope.
As we continue this Jubilee journey toward 2025, may the joy and peace we experienced together inspire us to carry the light of Christ into our daily lives.
As the weather gets colder, many people in our local community are doing it tough. The St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal is now underway, and we’re collecting donations of non-perishable food, toiletries and winter woollies like scarves, socks and gloves.
Your generous donations will go directly to local individuals and families who are struggling to make ends meet during this difficult time of year. For some, winter brings not only cold weather but also the harsh reality of not being able to afford basic necessities.
Let’s show our support and compassion – even the smallest donation can make a big difference.
Donations can be taken to homeroom for collection or dropped off at the Chapel.
Thank you for helping bring warmth and hope to others this winter.
