Jubilee Year Deanery Mass
Last Wednesday, we hosted the Western Deanery Mass for the Jubilee Year. A Jubilee Year in the Catholic Church is a special year of grace, joy, and spiritual renewal, declared by the Pope. It's a time when Catholics are invited to grow closer to God through prayer, pilgrimage, reconciliation, and helping others—especially the poor and suffering. The theme for the 2025 Jubilee Year is 'Pilgrims of Hope'.
We hosted the Parish Priests from our Deanery, Armidale Catholic Schools staff and students from St. Joseph's Walgett, St. Joseph's Mungindi, St. Joseph's Warialda, St. Francis Xavier's Narrabri, St. Mary's Gunnedah and St. Joseph's Wee Waa.
Mini Cathedral Pilgrimage
As a part of our celebrations for the Jubilee Year, all students were involved in a 'pilgrimage' to St. Francis Xavier's Church to view the Mini Cathedral that is travelling through the diocese. The purpose of this experience is for our students to learn about the Cathedral, the role of the bishop and the importance of relics.
