2011 – Black Hawk Helicopter Visit
Over the years, quite a number of Mazenod College graduates have chosen to enlist in Australia’s Armed Forces. Some have made it a lifelong career, while others have taken it as a step towards other life experiences. To all of them, we offer our thanks and appreciation. On ANZAC Day, we remember all members of our community who have served for Australia or another country to ensure the safety of our society.
In March 2011, students and staff witnessed a historic moment when a Black Hawk helicopter landed on the College oval while en route to the Avalon Airshow. The helicopter was brought to Mazenod by former student Major Matthew Williams [MOC1996] of the Australian Army. Students gathered around the perimeter of the oval, taking in the excitement of the occasion. Some may see themselves in these photos or remember the day as something truly out of the ordinary.
Remembering those who served.
