Well, what an amazing concert that was! Across three very big days, our students challenged themselves, cooperated as a team, and were able to shine on stage. Their energy, resilience and pure joy was infectious amongst all involved.

To be able to pull it all together so successfully, it took a village! Firstly, a huge thank you must go out to our Scotsburn staff, who all chipped in to make sure our students had a well-polished act, as well as helping with the creation of their incredible costumes. Lots of this work was completed out of hours and at home, and I know all of our students were extremely appreciative. From Taneale’s dragon head and wings to Liz’s incredible Chinese dragon and horse head pieces, the costumes were unforgettable. A particularly huge thank you to Kate Proud, who jumped in late to assist with the centaur bodies - what a showstopper they were! Also thank you to all of our parents, who pulled together the final touches for each students’ costume. They will be remembered for a long time to come!

Another thankyou to Liz for her creative direction and dance moves - not only for our act, but the whole production. It all came together so beautifully well.

For those that are wanting to purchase class photos or a USB video of the production, details for how to do this are in Bernie’s section of this week’s newsletter.

What a concert to remember!!!

We will be sharing lots of photos and videos of the concert with our students this week in class, which they will absolutely love.

This week we’re celebrating ES & Teacher Aide Appreciation Week and taking the opportunity to recognise our AMAZING Education Support team here at Buninyong.

At Scotsburn, we are so fortunate to have the incredible support of Raquel, Taneale and Rachael. They are absolutely part of the furniture up at Scotsburn and we would be lost without them. If you happen to run into any of our ES this week at drop off or pick up, please thank them for all of their hard work in contributing to making Scotsburn the amazing place that it is!

Scotsburn Principal For a Day

Last Tuesday, Scotsburn held its own version of Principal for a Day. Our successful applicants, Cleo, Tess and Annie, joined Jarrod throughout the day completing various important principal jobs, including, raiding the Buninyong staff room for food, putting feet up on Mrs Pillips’ desk and doing some uniform inspections. These three girls will make very strong leaders in the future!

Scotsburn Swimming Week

Our swimming program has kicked off this week, with all students starting well in their first few sessions. A reminder that this program continues every day throughout this week, so don't forget bathers, goggles and a towel each day right through to Friday.

Parent/Carer Opinion Survey

A reminder about our parent opinion survey. We would absolutely love as many of our Scotsburn families to respond to this survey, so that we can continue to celebrate all the things that we are doing well, as well as respond to any feedback where we can make improvements across the school.

All families have until Friday September 18 to complete the survey, with the link and details of how to complete on your Compass newsfeed.

Surveys are conducted online, only take approximately 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.

Father’s Day BreakfastThursday September 3

This year at Scotsburn we will again be holding a Fathers’ Day breakfast, celebrating all the special father figures in our lives. We would love all of our Scotsburn fathers and special friends to come along to the Scotsburn campus on Thursday 3rd September, for a big breakfast and celebration. We will have the old building ready from 8:15am for any guests, with our students doing all the hard work to show appreciation for their dads and special people in their lives!

Celebration of Learning - Wednesday September 16

In the final week of term on Wednesday, September 16th (5-7pm) we have our Celebration of Learning.

The Celebration of Learning is always a very popular event on our school’s calendar and is a wonderful opportunity for you to come along and get an insight into what your child/ren are learning at school.

All classroom spaces as well as specialist areas will be open for students to lead their families through to share their learning. We will be running a BBQ on the concrete throughout the night. We hope to see everyone there!

Scotsburn Intercampus Travel

At times, Scotsburn students will be transported between campuses in order to attend classes, assemblies, special days and events. On most occasions, transport required through the day will be by bus and occasionally private car for smaller groups of students. Parents may be asked to drop off or collect from the Buninyong campus if sessions are at the beginning or ending of a day.

We will always let you know of any upcoming travel arrangements via our newsletter, Compass, or via phone for smaller, more specific travel arrangements.

If you ever have any questions or concerns regarding intercampus travel, please contact your child’s teacher.
