The Northern School Lamb Competition

The Northern School Lamb Competition held yesterday yielded outstanding results. With participation from 15 schools, 130 sheep, and over 150 students, THS achieved notable successes in various categories, including first place in both heavy and medium weight lambs, as well as earning the titles of champion heavy weight, reserve middle weight, and grand champion pen on the hoof. Additionally, we secured first and second places with our individual lambs. Hook results will be shared once they are received next week.

Sydney University

Ambassadors from the University of Sydney visited our school on 14 May and conducted two informative sessions for our senior students. They presented a range of excellent courses and scholarship opportunities available to prospective applicants.

UNE Excursion

Mrs Clothier and a group of our senior students had a fantastic experience at the University of New England Open Day today. It was a valuable opportunity to explore future pathways and get inspired about life after school. We're so proud of the enthusiasm and curiosity our students brought to the day!

Chess Competition

Congratulations to Charlotte, Alex, Hunter, Finlay, and Coach Mr Tim Everett for their participation in the knockout chess competition in Emmaville on 1 May.

Our THS team achieved a remarkable victory by winning all their matches. Unfortunately, the team was not successful in their next game against Holy Trinity School, Inverell.

The team will play one more game this round. Well done everyone - it is fantastic to have a chess team at the school!

Anzac Day

At Tenterfield High School, we stand united with our community in remembrance and gratitude. Anzac Day is an opportunity for us to teach our students about the importance of service, the cost of freedom, and the power of unity.

We extend our deepest thanks to all veterans and their families for their service. We also acknowledge the strength of our community and the role it plays in fostering the values of respect and remembrance in our young people.

Hats off to Tenterfield for honoring ANZAC Day with pride and respect.

The community spirit always shines through on such important occasions. Well done to students & staff for representing THS on this special day.

Autumn Festival Hay Bale

We are so proud of Freda Haylowe and the remarkable guard dogs at the Ag plot! These entries were showcased as part of the Tenterfield High School Autumn Festival hay bale trail.

A heartfelt acknowledgment goes to the creative masterminds—Roxy, Amorette and Mr Jones for their outstanding artistry in crafting this hay-mazing display.

Achievement Award

Congratulations to Heather Goulding for being awarded the Seniors Local Achievement Award in recognition of her outstanding volunteer efforts within the Tenterfield community.

Heather is an active member of Rotary Tenterfield, contributes her time at the Tenterfield High School canteen, and played a pivotal role in organising the memorial lantern parade held in 2024 to honor the late Jackson Clarke.

The Seniors Local Achievement Awards, part of the NSW Seniors Festival, aim to acknowledge and celebrate the significant contributions of seniors to their communities across New South Wales. These awards are presented locally, enabling Members of Parliament and community members to recognize the positive impact seniors have in their respective areas. Well done Heather!
