Interschool Sports Cricket
On Tuesday 10 February, the Intermediate and Senior Nossal cricket teams proudly represented Nossal High School at the Casey South Division Cricket Tournament showcasing exceptional performances throughout the day.
The Intermediate team students, showcased brilliant skill and resilience at the Casey South Division Cricket Tournament, demonstrating dominance and Zen under pressure. The opening match against Timbarra saw the team deliver a commanding performance, producing a an impressive 1/103 in just eight overs. Key contributors included Aryan Ghanekar (20*), Ayaan Thareja (20*), Reyan Saldi (20*), and Thiseth (15*), whose unbeaten innings set the tone.
The opposition was bowled out for a mere 34 runs sealing a one-sided victory. In a more challenging second match against Berwick College, the team posted 5/84, with Aryan (30) and Reyan (30) leading the scoring efforts. The defence came down to a nerve wracking final over, with captain Ayaan Thareja developing an unstoppable bowling strategy to secure a thrilling win, despite Berwick requiring only nine runs from the last three balls. Riding this momentum, the team faced off against Gleneagles and restricted them to just 20 runs in eight overs. The target was chased easily within four overs, led by strong contributions from Thiseth (15*) and Snithik Rajkumar (6*). Throughout the tournament, the team displayed an exemplary performance of teamwork.
The Senior team was equally dominant, delivering three decisive victories through explosive batting and disciplined bowling. Against Hallam, they declared at 2/120, thanks to Aiyaan’s blistering 60 off 29 balls and Yevin’s steady 34* off 21 deliveries. The bowling unit then restricted Hallam to 5/58, with Sahib giving away only 2 runs in his two overs, securing a 62-run win. The second match against Berwick mirrored their dominance as they posted 2/130 on the back of Aiyaan’s outstanding 66 off 26 balls and Rish’s valuable 41 off 28 balls. The bowlers followed, with Josh (1/13), Rish (1/6), and Aiyaan (0/9) combining well to secure victory by 60 runs. In their final clash with Gleneagles, the Senior team dismissed their opponents for a mere 22 runs. Haveesh (2/2) and Arjun (2/3) lethal bowling attack, set an easy chase completed in just five deliveries, highlighted by Dev’s explosive knock of 12* from only three balls.
Overall, both teams dominated throughout the day and are excited to represent Nossal at the intermediate stage.

Senior Boys Baseball
On Monday 16 February, the Senior Boys’ Baseball Team competed at Sweeney Reserve, competing against Gleneagles Secondary College and Berwick Secondary College in a round-robin format.
Our first game was against Gleneagles, through strong pitching from Yashik and great hitting from the rest of the team, we won 10-1. Our next game was against Berwick; both teams brought their best, but ultimately Nossal won 10-6. This win allowed us to move onto the next stage of competition, where we will be competing at Kingston Heath reserve.
A special thanks to Miss Clarkson who coached our team and Miss Villiers who was our coach on the day.
