University of Melbourne’s sheCommerce program – applications close 15 March

 

Applications for the 2026 Year 9 intake of the sheCommerce Program are now open. sheCommerce is an immersive and academic enrichment program delivered by the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Business and Economics. This program is for Year 9-12 high school students who identify as women or non-binary and are passionate about leadership and pursuing a career where they can impact change. Participants engage in collaborative workshops on the University of Melbourne Parkville campus and will have the opportunity to:  

  • Connect with like-minded peers
  • Meet current Bachelor of Commerce students and alumni
  • Learn from inspiring academics and industry leaders making a real-world impact

Cis-women, trans women and non-binary students are encouraged to apply. Students can enter the program from Year 9 and will be offered activities and enrichment opportunities for the remainder of their schooling years. Click here to learn about this program and how to apply.

 

EducationUSA Virtual General Information SessionThursday 26 February, 6:30pm – 8:30pm

 

Thinking about studying at a U.S. college or university after high school? Join EdUSA’s first virtual session this year on Thursday 26 February at 6:30pm. This general information session is perfect for high school students who are just starting to explore studying at a U.S. university or need help refocusing their application strategy. 

The session will be delivered in two parts: the first segment is on general academic entry to U.S. colleges from approximately 6:00 pm-6:45 pm, followed by a segment on U.S. college sport pathways and recruitment. Projects Abroad online info session: Overseas Medical programs for high school students – Tuesday 3 March at 6:30pm

 

Projects Abroad overseas medical programsare designed for students in years 10, 11, and 12 and will run over the mid-year break and then again in summer 2026/27. They are ideal for individuals or groups of friends. Projects Abroad has been running these programs for 20 years. They are very popular with students from across Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and North America.

 

The programs run in countries such as CambodiaSri Lankathe Philippines, Nepal, and, a little further afield, in destinations such as Tanzania and Peru. The programs are a close up insight into a career in healthcare and students will:

  • spend time in a variety of departments in hospitals, shadowing doctors
  • support community health drives, taking healthcare to places with little or no coverage,
  • attend skills workshops and discussions with local doctors.

AIE Information Evening for future students – Thursday 12 March, 6pm to 8pm

 

Discover the courses designed to get you started in game development, film, 3D animation and visual effects at the Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE) Information Evening. The evening will include presentations on different areas of industry to get into as well as information about AIE full-time and part-time courses and entry requirements. AIE will be showing off AIE student work and our staff and teachers will be available to chat with you about our courses and how AIE can get you into a creative career. University of Queensland Medicine online information evening – Wednesday 18 March at 6pm

 

Attend this information session to learn about studying medicine at The University of Queensland (UQ). Hear from UQ Medical School staff, UQ alumni and current students on the changing medical climate, how to apply for medicine at UQ, and tips for success. What's involved:

  • Learn about admission requirements and how to apply for the Doctor of Medicine (MD).

REMINDER: 2026 Hansen Scholarship Program Info Sessions

Valued at over $100,000, the Hansen Scholarship Program provides students the financial support to fully focus on their studies, exclusive mentoring opportunities, industry connections and community to help them truly succeed at university. Applications are now open to Year 12 students starting their undergraduate studies in 2027 and will close on 30 March 2026. A Place for Everyone: A Beginners guide to roles in the screen industry – Saturday 21 March at 9:30am

 

Screen Careers is Australia’s only national not-for-profit organisation dedicated to strengthening the screen industry by supporting productions to operate effectively and helping crew members build sustainable, long-term careers. They are hosting a free online information session designed to provide an introduction to career pathways within the screen industry, with a particular focus on crew or ‘Below the Line’ roles. These are the highly skilled professionals who work behind the scenes across areas such as lighting, sound, camera, production design, hair and makeup, costume, locations, and post-production – and are essential in bringing film and television projects to life.

Discover ACU events

Years 10 – 12 students are invited to attend Discover ACU at their Melbourne and Ballarat Campuses during the school holidays. Students will explore ACU’s campuses, engage in hands-on workshops, and meet other students who have similar course and career aspirations. They can also chat with current ACU students and staff to get a sense of university life. Parents and carers are welcome to attend.
