Chaplain's Chat

Pancakes, pancakes everywhere! A special thank you to our Parents and Friends volunteers, student leaders, and volunteers from Year 7 and 10 who prepared hundreds of pancakes for our students this week. It is a delicious tradition that brings our community together informally around food before the formal gathering of Ash Wednesday, marking the beginning of Lent.
Our Ash Wednesday service has a focused quality as we point people to Jesus. The season begins with the sign of the cross in ashes, reminding us that life is precious and that we should make the most of each day, loving God and loving others.
Our students now have the opportunity to prepare for Easter. Christians believe that the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ are the most important events in history. God, in his great love, sent His only Son to redeem us from our sins and restore us to a right relationship with the God who made us.
Our Lent activities for this year are reminders to engage in small acts of kindness each day so that we might live generously following the example of Jesus.
Kind Regards,
Rev. Tim Bowles
