Learning in Real-Time: The Power of Mini Whiteboards
At Mitcham Primary School, we are constantly refining our "responsive teaching" toolkit to ensure no student is left behind. One of the most effective—and popular—tools in our classrooms is the mini whiteboard.
Why Mini Whiteboards?
While they might look like simple plastic boards, they are transformative for classroom engagement. In a traditional "hands-up" scenario, a teacher might only hear from one or two students. With mini whiteboards, we use a "show me" approach:
- Instant Feedback: Teachers can scan the room and instantly see every student's answer, identifying misconceptions in seconds.
- A Safe Space to Fail: Because the ink wipes away easily, students feel more confident taking risks and trying complex problems without the "permanence" of a mistake in a workbook.
- Active Participation: Every child is physically involved in the lesson, keeping energy high and focus sharp.
How Your Contributions Help
These high-impact tools require constant upkeep. From the boards themselves to a steady supply of markers and erasers, maintaining these resources is an ongoing cost.
This is where your voluntary contributions make a world of difference. It is your support that allows us to invest in tactile resources that define our responsive teaching practice. Your contributions ensure that every desk is equipped with the tools needed for modern, interactive learning.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep our classrooms dynamic, supportive, and—most importantly—responsive to every child’s needs.
