The Green Team approached the bright flowers, mint leaves, green playdough, and coloured rice with a sense of wonder, calling out, “It smells like a real garden!” as they explored the materials with their hands. They pressed petals into dough, rolled shapes, and sprinkled rice with intention, revealing emerging fine‑motor strength, curiosity, and a growing confidence in their own ideas. Their voices carried imagination into the space - “Mine is a flower cake!” and “I’m making sprinkle ice‑cream!” - transforming the table into a small atelier of possibilities.

Charlie and Anay experimented with scooping and pouring, engaging in early mathematical thinking as they compared amounts and tested how materials moved. The playdough invited all of this: a soft, sensory, endlessly adaptable medium that honoured the children’s questions, theories, and creativity as they constructed meaning through play.

Harmony Week Happenings

Cooking and Dressing Culturally

Tuesday 17th March - We would love a couple of parents to volunteer who would like to prepare and cook something savoury with the children from their culture (no nut products) eg roti, a rice dish, scones. Please speak to Jasmyn if you're interested and available by Friday (tomorrow). We can provide the ingredients, if you can provide an hour or so of your time either at 8:30am, 10:15am or around 1pm.

Friday 20th March - Children, staff and parents if you would like, are invited to dress in something from their family's culture or wear something orange. If children are wearing a 'special' outfit, please include comfortable clothing in their bag in case they want to get changed during the day, and please wear clothing that covers the shoulders to be sun smart and shoes for active play.

We are blessed to be a multicultural community, and we look forward to celebrating all of the cultures represented at Curiosity next week.

Blessings, The Curiosity Team

Parent/Carer Workshop - Staying Calm in the Storm

Dear families We are very excited to be able to host a 2-session parent/carer workshop presented by Connected Self in August. Please see the attached flyer for course content. We can offer this free to you due to it being funded by our Preschool Boost funding we have received as part of our Flying Start Preschool agreement.

If you are interested, would you please be able to respond via today's Storypark post, or via the Family Engagement Table at the ELC entrance as to whether Tuesdays or Wednesdays at the start and end of August would suit your family better, or that either day would work for you.

Thank you.
