Car Park Risk and Safety

Speed

Speed has again become a concern, with some cars driving too fast as they pull out from Kiss and Drop/pass the Uniform Shop.

The speed limit is strictly walking pace/10kmh, from entering at the church driveway until passing the Curiosity ELC driveway on Hillary Crescent.

Once you have dropped off or picked up your child, or if you are continuing through to the Curiosity ELC car park, you must remain driving at walking pace/10kmh until you have passed the driveway of Curiosity ELC.

Car Park Direction

There have been a number of vehicles observed driving the wrong way through the carpark. The GSPV church and school car park is one way only at all times

Please pay attention to our signage and ensure entry into the carpark is via Montague Road only.

Pedestrian Crossing

When unmonitored – cars are to give way to pedestrians – however if you are a pedestrian, please check carefully before stepping into the lanes of traffic.

When monitored – both cars and pedestrians are to follow the directions of the staff member monitoring the crossing and their lollypop sign.  The crossing duty monitor is there to keep pedestrians safe and to support the smoothest flow of traffic as possible.

Scholastic Book Club - Orders Due Today

The Scholastic Book Club catalogues were sent home last week, with orders due by today.

Scholastic apps are available to download for both Apple and Android devices to make ordering through the Loop system easier.

There is the option to mark your purchases as GIFTS. When these books arrive, you will be contacted directly, rather than books going home with students.

Please also note that some titles offered, differ from the Christian ethos followed by the school.

Cash orders are not accepted by the school, so please place all orders via LOOP by Thursday 12th March 2025.

Happy Reading Everyone!

Harmony Week

Harmony Week is just around the corner, and it’s a wonderful opportunity for us as a school community to celebrate the rich diversity that makes Good Shepherd such a vibrant place to learn and work. Throughout the week, we’ll be highlighting the message that everyone belongs - recognising, respecting, and valuing the cultural backgrounds, stories, and traditions that each person brings.

Throughout week 8 we will have various activities in class and in lunch clubs, we'll also have the following lunch time activities in The Ark.

  • Monday - Foundation - Harmony Day Headbands
  • Tuesday - Stage 2 - Decorate a Harmony Day person
  • Wednesday - Stage 3 - Speech Bubbles
  • Thursday - Stage 4 - Harmony Day Booklet

On Friday 20th March, we encourage students and staff to wear their cultural clothing or orange (the official Harmony Day colour) to show support. It will be a gold coin donation toward the following:

Fun fact: At Good Shepherd we have 38 different languages represented in our school!

We Need Your Feedback - Parenting Workshops

Parenting workshops have previously been a valuable part of this community, helping to build connections with other parents and supporting parents to overcome challenges they may be experiencing. As we once again begin to explore the potential of this space, we would greatly value your input in helping to shape these events and ensure they meet the needs of our community.

Below is a link to an anonymous questionnaire, where you can share your feedback regarding potential topics, preferred frequency, and other logistical considerations.

Please find the link here: Parenting Workshop – Fill out form

Thank you for your feedback. We look forward to partnering with you to help meet the needs of our community.
