Exciting news from last Friday's 2025 Sports Awards Assembly!
What an incredible year it has been for Team sVc! Incredibly 87 per cent of our students participated in at least one sport or co-curricular activity this year, showcasing the College's commitment to providing outstanding opportunities outside the classroom. With over 30 sports and activities available, it’s clear we're leading the way. A huge shoutout to our dedicated College staff for their tireless efforts in supporting our athletes.
It has been inspiring to see so many students achieve representative status in various sports this year! Whilst we honour exceptional team results, the Awards Assembly focused on the individual achievements that make us proud. Selecting the award winners was no easy task, but with the help of our Sport Coordinators, we recognised some truly remarkable talents.

Tribute to a College skipper
St Virgil's College also paid tribute to Mr Geoffrey Doolan for his unwavering dedication and commitment to our College. For over 45 years, Mr Doolan, along with Br Peter Flint, has been one of the driving forces behind the College's sailing program. This initiative has not only fostered teamwork and resilience among our students but has also ignited a passion for adventure and the outdoors.
Mr Doolan's contributions in terms of financial support, securing facilities and resources, and donating his time are truly remarkable and will be exceptionally hard to replicate. Mr Doolan's wife, Kate, has also been instrumental in supporting the College sailing program, assisting Geoff with all administrative and organisational requirements to ensure the club remained operational.
Mr Doolan's enthusiasm for sailing and commitment to boys' education extend beyond academics. He has inspired countless young minds to embrace learning and pursue personal growth. His impactful approach to the College's Sailing Program has left a lasting impression on everyone who has had the privilege of working alongside you and learning under your guidance.
The College deeply appreciate Mr Doolan's efforts and the positive influence he has had on the entire College community.

The atmosphere was electric, filled with both fierce competition and camaraderie as everyone produced outstanding individual and team results.
