Metropolitan North Representative School Sport District Restructure
Metropolitan North School Sport has recently undergone a district restructure following the Queensland Representative School Sport Review, which highlighted the need to create structures that are clearer, more transparent, and consistent for students, parents, and schools.
The review identified that existing district arrangements varied in governance and operation, making them sometimes difficult to navigate. In response, the region’s nine former districts have now been reconfigured into six new 10–19 years districts: Bay, Pine, City, Central, North and West. These new districts have been designed in direct response to the findings of the review and in consultation with key stakeholders. Each district will also feature refreshed logos and branding, keeping much of their traditional colours and identity. Our school is part of the North District from 2026.
As part of the new structure, each pair of districts will be supported by a Senior School Sport Advisor, who will work closely with schools to coordinate events and representative opportunities. Parents and students are reminded that the first point of contact for district trials is always through the school. Up-to-date information about trial dates, calendars, and nomination processes will soon be available on the Metropolitan North School Sport website, which is currently being updated and will be live in Week 9. We look forward to supporting our students as they pursue their sporting goals within this new and improved Metropolitan North district model.
