This term, we are continuing to explore the rights and responsibilities involved in sharing finite resources with other people, communities, and living organisms. Students have been investigating the unique characteristics of bees, their life cycle, and how changes to their habitat can have serious consequences.
Students are enhancing their skills in using letter-sound relationships to read unfamiliar words. They are also applying their prior knowledge to make connections with the texts they read. Additionally, students are learning about persuasive writing and how to support their arguments with strong reasoning and factual evidence.
This term we are learning to problem solve by using the four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) to answer worded problems. Students are highlighting important words and numbers, using concrete materials and pictorial drawings to assist in correctly answering their word problems.
