Principals Report

Dear Parents, Families and Friends,

As Term 1 draws to a close, we take a moment to give thanks for a term filled with learning, reflection and meaningful connections. Easter is a special time in the life of our school community, inviting us to pause and reflect on the message of hope, love and new life. It reminds us that even in challenging moments, there is always the promise of renewal, growth and joy.

As part of our Holy Week learning, students re‑enacted the Way of the Cross—the recount of Jesus’ final journey, where he carried the cross and showed courage, forgiveness and love even through suffering. This re‑enactment was a wonderful opportunity for students to show their learning in a practical, meaningful way. They were well rehearsed, spoke clearly, acted with reverence and sang beautifully. We received many positive comments from those who were able to attend. If you were unable to join us, a recording of the liturgy can be viewed through the link https://youtu.be/gBFTUEdfpP0

It was also wonderful to open our school to the community for our inaugural St Mary's Easter Egg Hunt, where we welcomed seven preschool aged or below children and their families. Events like these allow us to celebrate our vibrant school environment while extending a warm, welcoming invitation to the wider community. We look forward to offering more opportunities like this throughout the year.

Our Foundation students have shown remarkable growth as they have settled into school life throughout Term 1. The term has run very smoothly, which is a credit to the calm routines established and the positive attitudes of our students. We would like to commend both our students and staff for the way they have worked together to create a safe and supportive learning environment during this important first term of schooling.

Next Term, St Mary’s is delighted to welcome prospective families to our upcoming Open Week, a wonderful opportunity to experience the warmth, learning, and faith-filled life of our school. The week will begin with a Parent Information Evening, providing families with the chance to learn more about our vision, curriculum, and commitment to nurturing every child. This will be followed by student and principal led tours held throughout the week, offering an authentic glimpse into daily life at St Mary’s.

We warmly invite families considering enrolment to come along, ask questions, and see firsthand what makes St Mary’s such a special place to learn and grow.
