Principal's Press

Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Students have now finished most of their exams and assessments and teachers are in the busy period of marking and report writing. There is only a few weeks left of Term 2 and we have been enjoying some wonderful rain!
I have been reading and reflecting on Psalm 5 recently and one thing stood out for me. King David, the author of Psalm 5, faced repeated betrayal, frequent violence and contested leadership, and you see in the psalm his raw emotions. In the midst of this, we see David’s habit of daily prayer, and his reliance on God for all things “In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice.”
In his anger and fear, David calls out to God for help, to destroy the guilty and protect the righteous. More importantly, David asks God to lead him “in righteousness.” He knows he cannot navigate the day on his own strength or instincts. David recognises his own guilt and that it is only by God’s great love that he can enter God’s house, when others cannot.
What stands out to me most is that David asks God to lead him “in righteousness.” He knows he cannot navigate the day on his own strength or instincts. Instead, he seeks God’s guidance and protection for the day ahead. One result of his daily prayer is that David sees God’s responses to his requests each day and he experiences a little of the life of walking with God.
I encourage you to consider the place of prayer in your daily habits. As we head towards the end of Term, I am praying for each of our families, for God’s guidance, His love and protection.
Sample New Design White Shirts
As outlined in my letter earlier this term, we have been seeking to review the College uniform in response to parent, student and staff feedback last year. Samples of the new designs for the white shirts (boys/girls, winter/summer) are now available in the College office for viewing. We’d love to hear your feedback before we decide whether to go ahead with this change. Feel free to email me directly or leave a note at the office when you visit.
Semester 1 Reports
Semester 1 reports will be issued to parents at the end of Term 2. These reports contain important feedback on your child’s learning, engagement and how well they are displaying College values of integrity, diligence, respect and kindness. Reports are issued through the College Compass platform and parents will receive an email when they are released and ready for viewing. This semester we have prepared a new report format, increasing the specific learning feedback that you receive.
